Volunteer and Community Service Opportunities

We are looking for volunteers within groups, businesses and organizations to host drives throughout the year to collect toys/gifts, clothing, winter hats & gloves and gift cards. We would love to work with your group to create a donation drive to help restock our inventory for the next giving season.

During the months of November and December, we are always looking for individuals and groups that would like to help "shop" from our gift room and / or wrap gifts for our recipient families in December. Each year, we hand pick and wrap over 1800 gifts from our inventory for over 300 children in approximately 1 month's time. Picking and wrapping typically takes place on weekday evenings and some weekends leading up to our 2-day "Wrap Party," held the 2nd weekend in December, when we finish wrapping the gifts and distribute to the families either by delivery or pick up. Every set of hands helps us achieve this mission.

Volunteers deliver wrapped gifts to families in Grant, Iowa, Lafayette and Crawford Counties typically the 2nd weekend in December. Past volunteers have said that delivering the gifts is the most rewarding and touching experience and brings the true joy of the holiday season to life.

We are looking for groups of volunteers that would be interested in helping us sort, organize and inventory toys and clothes throughout the year as donations come in. Volunteers may also help combine items into "kits" to prepare for the upcoming Christmas Season. Volunteers may also help by removing price tags and mark out barcodes. Dates and Times can be discussed with interested groups.

Throughout the year, we need volunteers to represent Christmas for Kids - Southwest WI by contacting / visiting businesses and organizations throughout Grant, Iowa, Lafayette & Crawford counties to distribute donation brochures, make donation requests, pick up donations and hang signs for upcoming events.

 Prior to this event, typically held the first weekend in May, volunteers can collect donated items and / or transport them to the sale site. They may also move, sort, organize and display sale items; hang signage and various other tasks as needed. We will also be looking for volunteers for clean up after the rummage sale on Saturday, May 4th from approximately 3 - 4 p.m. Interested individuals and groups can contact us for more details on days and times needed.
