We were founded in 2021 by Hannah & Clint Miller of Grant County. We got our start the year after Covid-19 hit hard & affected so many people world-wide. Hannah & Clint saw struggling families in need being denied by other programs or assistance not being available in the area for various reasons & took action. A Facebook group was created for helpers in the communities. Together they scoured the aisles for deals, saved what they could, & purchased extra gifts while shopping for their own families. We took applications through the month of October, & by December, we were able to help 21 families, 54 children in total, have a Christmas every child deserves, just in our first year!
Christmas for Kids-Southwest WI is a volunteer & donation-based nonprofit charity organization designed to help families going through unforeseen circumstantial financial hardships, who do not otherwise qualify for assistance, that are in need during the upcoming Christmas Season, be able to provide a Christmas for their children. Our program is open to all children from ages zero up to 18 years of age.
Our mission is to be able to help as many families as we can within reason, with the hopes of giving the children receiving from our program a Christmas they deserve. We aim to provide each child with 4-5 gifts to open on Christmas, along with a stocking, hat with mittens/gloves, & a full outfit appropriate for winter, which includes a top & bottom. We may be able to provide additional items such as socks, pajamas, coats, etc. if we have the availability.
We are always in need of more volunteers. We look for help in the following areas:

Christmas for Kids- Southwest WI underwent the 501(c)3 application process earlier in 2023. To our surprise, we received very quick confirmation from the IRS that we are officially recognized as a nonprofit charitable organization under the 501(c)3 Internal Revenue Code. Our EIN is 93-1524120.

Christmas for Kids- Southwest WI has been blessed over the past year to have been given the opportunity to partner with The Lancaster Congregational Church with the utilization of a safe, climate controlled storage space, along with the perfect space for us to wrap the Christmas presents & utilize as our "home base" for our organization. We cannot express enough how much gratitude we have for The Lancaster Congregational Church for allowing us to be able to grow & continue our mission to help those in need.
This year Christmas for Kids- Southwest WI has partnered up with Family Life Radio for their Annual Toy Drive which will run October 30th until December 3rd. We will be setting out our donation drop boxes at our normal locations during the donation drive. For those who wish to shop online we have an Amazon Wish List created specifically for this Toy Drive. Here is the link for our Amazon Wish List! (https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/29NLO9DBZHJC9?ref_=wl_share) Our goal this year is to be able to help give at least 200 children 5 amazing Christmas gifts & winter appropriate clothing to open on Christmas day. That's a goal of at least 1,000 gifts! We hope that with our partnership with Family Life Radio we may be able to reach our goal & be able to serve our communities to our fullest potential! Be sure to listen to FM 88.1 & check out their website: myflr.org!
"Sip Back & Give Back" at The Neighborhood Slush as they partner with Christmas for Kids- Southwest WI this holiday season. Stop by The Neighborhood Slush, during business hours, from November 1 - December 9 to pick an ornament off their tree and help a family/child with a little extra something special this Christmas. All unwrapped gifts and donations must be returned by Dec 9 so they can be wrapped and distributed. As a special incentive they are throwing a little party on December 9th to help "Wrap Up" this event. This is truly a community event! If you cannot make it to the boutique, please reach out to them as they can still get you the wish of a family or child, or take a donation via their website or Venmo. There are so many ways you can help!
With all of us working together, we can accomplish great things. To volunteer or contribute to our organization, or if you have any questions, please send us a message. We will get back to you soon.

We cover the furthest southwest corner in Wisconsin, which would be Crawford, Grant, Iowa, & Lafayette Counties.
Any families who are going through financial hardship due to unforeseen circumstances & reside in Crawford, Grant, Iowa, & Lafayette Counties in Wisconsin.
Our application process opens on October 1st of every year & ends November 1st.
We ask that those who are approved, & receive from our program, not abuse the program by selling gifted items as our organization runs solely on donations. Those who abuse the program may be denied approval for assistance in future years.
Yes! Everyone who applies will receive a letter from the organization letting them know if they were approved or denied.
We cannot promise any specific gifts for any child as we are run on donations for all gifts given. We do try to our best ability to give at least one (1) gift on each child's wish list, but it is all dependent on what we received in donations. Asking for specific items does not mean that your child will be guaranteed to receive that item, if your application is approved.
Once your application has been approved, our designated team will begin to pick out gifts for your child according to their listed likes & wish list. All gifts will be wrapped with gift tags labeled with only your child's first name a week or two before Christmas. Gifts can either be delivered or picked up at scheduled times. For all delivered gifts, an adult must be present to receive.
When we get ready to start making deliveries, one of our volunteers will contact you at the number on your application to make sure an adult will be present at the time of delivery. Deliveries are made on the weekends, a week or two before Christmas.
There will be an announcement made with the dates & time slots available, along with the pick up location, for those who wish to directly pick up their gifts from us instead of having them delivered. Pick-ups will be the same days as the gift deliveries, which would be on a weekend a week or two before Christmas.
We collect donations year-round to build up our inventory. If you are interested in donating, please contact us for more information on how & what you can donate!
